Booking and Taking All Inclusive Cruises
A cruise is like no other type of vacation. It can be casual and relaxing or exciting and over the top. All inclusive cruises make traveling by sea worry free – meaning everything is included, but you need to understand what “everything” means before you book your trip.
There are several different types of packages, price ranges, and destinations to choose from. You should explore all of your options before booking your cruise to ensure that you are getting the best deal for your money. Carnival, Cunard, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean all offer great deals throughout the year. Deals can be found offline through a local travel agency or through the internet where many cruise lines off “internet only” deals not offered offline.
What Does All Inclusive Cover
Typically food, alcoholic beverages, and entertainment are covered when you are on the ship. Some cruise lines include child care, spa visits, shore excursions, and other amenities. This is great not having to bring your wallet everywhere you go, but be sure you know what is included before you book your cruise and don’t forget to prepare for what is not included like tips, casino play, snacks, extra beverages, etc.
Choosing Your Destination
There are a number of things to consider before your cruise, one of which is your destination. When deciding on your destination you need to consider the length of the cruise. Most 3-4 day cruises allow you spend a day on the islands or wherever you dock while longer cruises may visit several different islands.
If you are traveling outside of the United States proof of citizenship will be required so you will have to get a passport if you do not already have one. This is extremely important because you will not be allowed to board if you do not have the proper documentation.
Booking Your Cruise
Before booking your cruise you need to make sure you know the flight schedules. If you are departing from Florida and you live in New York you will need a flight that will get you there in plenty of time. Many individuals plan to arrive a day earlier and stay in a hotel so avoid rushing to the ship, potential flight delays or schedule changes. If you are driving and plan on leaving your vehicle you need to make certain that it is safe and secure. There are usually secured parking lots in the vicinity. You may want to check into this before you book your trip.
The thought of having everything included sounds wonderful, but being prepared to cover the extras will make your next cruise enjoyable and worry free.
